| Medieval timber frame buildings and roofs are testament to the enduring qualities of properly maintained timbers but all too often a cycle of poor maintenance exacerbated by even poorer, badly informed, repairs destroy not only their structural integrity but the vitally important craft record of our building's vernacular construction. Poor maintenance leaves a wooden structure vulnerable to water damage, fungal attack such as wet and dry rot, moulds and also insect infestation and damage.
